Thylda Barès

Actress

Thylda Barès trained in singing as a child at the Maîtrise de Paris, as well as in circus arts. She continued her studies at Queen Mary University of London, then at the Michael Chekhov Acting Studio in New York. She graduated from the École Jacques Lecoq in 2016. Since then, she has been training in directing as an assistant to Lorraine de Sagazan (Un Sacre), Yngvild Aspeli (Dracula), and Pierre Guillois (Les Gros patinent bien).

As part of in itinere collectif, a public-space theater collective, she directed Traverser la Rivière sous la pluie, which won the Audience Award at the 2018 Mimos Festival; Why Do Old People, Who Have Nothing to Do, Cross at a Red Light?, winner of the Audience Award at the 2021 Mimos Festival, the Audience Award at the 2021 Littoral emCena, and the Audience Award at the 2022 Voilà Festival! Europe; n Degrees of Freedom, winner of the 2022 Plateaux du Groupe Geste and the 2023 ARTCENA Project Presentation Award; Nuisibles, written by Laurie Guin, Winner of the ARTCENA “Auteurs en Tandem” Award 2024–2025, Winner of the SACD “Auteurs d’Espace” Award 2026.

She joined Le Désert en Ville for the production Lettres Vives, to which she contributed her valuable insight, and she is an actress in Souviens-toi d’avant l’aube.
