Isabelle Ardouin

Lightning design

Thanks to her father’s passion, Isabelle grew up surrounded by electrical cables, spotlights, speakers, fireworks launchers, and all those “technical hacks” found in the world of entertainment—and, above all, with the music always playing. After studying Fine Arts at the University of Rennes II from 1997 to 1999, followed by a professional training program in the performing arts at the University of Burgundy from 1999 to 2002, she decided to leave her studies and return to her roots: she taught herself lighting and pyrotechnics. Since then, she has worked with theater companies (Cie Carni Levamen, Cie Crue, Cie Nomorpa, Les Léz’arts Verts…), music groups (Casualty, Cendrio…), and visual artists (Yorga, Anne Levillain, Pierre Brunelière…) to provide them with her technical expertise and those little magical touches that illuminate subtle moments or set a space ablaze… making the audience’s eyes sparkle!

She has been working on lighting designs for Désert en Ville since the company’s inception. She has created the lighting for the shows Lettres Vives, Souviens-toi d’avant l’aube, Le Chant Végétal, L’Enveillée … as well as the installations Réponse(s) and En Souvenances.
